You're Ready for the LeadAmerica Challenge if:
You're motivated to work with young people and to help them become the best they can be. You want to inspire them, help them believe in themselves, identify their potential, and instill in them a sense of purpose, integrity, self-confidence and personal responsibility.
You understand the importance of keeping our students safe at all times and can place the needs, safety and security of students first when making decisions. You respect the privacy and personal nature of student information that may be shared with you.
You like working in a dynamic, experiential atmosphere where you work with students in simulations, hands-on workshops and activities.
You have a positive, can-do attitude. You're friendly and respectful. You work in partnership with others. Your main goal is to ensure that students have an exceptional LeadAmerica experience.
You have academic and/or work experience in one or more of the topic areas in which we offer conferences. You're enthusiastic about your subject area and want to share your knowledge and enthusiasm with students.
You embrace the concept of leading by example. You're willing to abide by LeadAmerica's Code of Conduct, dress code and all policies and procedures. You understand that, as a role model, you cannot use foul language, tobacco, drugs or alcohol at any time during conferences.
You're willing to participate fully in all LeadAmerica staff training prior to beginning your conference, and to read and become familiar with all pre-conference materials prior to the mandatory staff training. You're open to ongoing instruction, guidance and coaching.
You are willing to learn the "LeadAmerica Way" (how we do things) and will support the policies and decisions of the organization, even if you may not agree with a particular policy or decision. You understand the importance of staff meetings and always attend and participate. You are on time, all the time at LeadAmerica!
You're not afraid of hard work and long hours. After all, the personal growth and rewards far exceed the effort! You're able to participate in all program activities, including extensive walking, outdoor activities, and 24-hour on call for emergencies. You don't mind sharing a room with another staff member.
