DISCOVER MEDICINE, SCIENCE & ROBOTICS

10 days – Summer 2008 Email page to a Friend
SAN DIEGO , CA, San Diego State University
BALTIMORE, MD , Johns Hopkins University

BOSTON, MA, Bentley College

Experience the excitement of the HEALTH SCIENCES.
Explore careers in healthcare and biological science while you learn about the complex relationship between patients and the entire medical team. You’ll learn about the communicability of disease and infection and how our body’s natural defenses work to fight against them. And you’ll learn how to conduct patient interviews and evaluations, and begin the process of actual diagnosis.

Roll up your sleeves as you explore the PHYSICAL SCIENCES.
With members of your team, learn how to build and program your own robot to perform simple tasks. Explore the variables and forces of velocity, gravity, and motion and build a transport device to effectively protect an object during free fall. In the process, you’ll gain insight into scientific principles at work in careers ranging from engineering to aerospace technology.

Explore technological advances with APPLIED SCIENCES.
Learn how scientific principles are used in everything from manufacturing to forensic science. You’ll gain an understanding of how DNA is extracted, observed, and recorded for identification and solving crimes. Hone your critical-thinking skills as you apply the scientific method of formulation and testing a hypothesis during a hands-on workshop.

  • Simulations in healthcare, physical science (engineering) and science
  • Briefings with leaders in the field – Meet the experts
  • Leadership development workshops
  • Learn about the many science-based fields
