We’re Off To The Presidential Inauguration!!

general-hinnaman

#leadamerica #pilsla | All scholars of the Presidential Inaugural Leadership Summit have boarded buses and are en route to the National Mall to watch President Barack Obama take the Presidential Oath! We were fortunate to receive a personal briefing last night by Brig. Gen. Arthur W. Hinaman, USA, the commander in charge of District of Columbia National Guard Inauguration Joint Task Force.

The Joint Task Force is made up of 6,000 National Guard Soldiers and Airmen to support civil authorities during the 57th Presidential Inauguration. From The District of Columbia National Guard website:

The National Guard will perform several critical missions – crowd management, traffic control, emergency services, and communication and ceremonial duties. Additionally, the 113th Wing, the Capital Guardians, a DC Air National Guard unit located at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, will lead the air sovereignty effort through North Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).

Joint Task Force-National Capital Region has released an iOS app to connect you to the latest DoD news and information about support to the Presidential Inauguration. Download on the App Store: http://bit.ly/W8k3Zh  Read more here.

A big THANK YOU to Gen. Hinaman for stopping in and briefing us and to all the men & women keeping the public, not to mention the President and dignitaries, safe! LeadAmerica thanks all of you for your service.
