THE LEADAMERICA FOUNDATION

Investing In The Next Generation Of Leaders
With a commitment to youth and excellence in leadership education that dates back more than 18 years, the LeadAmerica Foundation has enriched the lives of thousands of young leaders.

Each year, thousands of outstanding students from every state in the United States and more than 51 countries attend LeadAmerica conferences and gain skills that will help them along the road toward a successful and rewarding life of leadership and service.

The LeadAmerica Foundation provides scholarships and other support to students with financial need. We believe that every qualified student should have an opportunity to attend a LeadAmerica conference and that financial need should never be a barrier to a student's participation in such a life-changing experience.

The LeadAmerica Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations to The LeadAmerica Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Classroom Grants
The LeadAmerica Foundation's innovative Classroom Grant program provides educators with assistance in developing and enhancing leadership education in the classroom. In 2005, the Foundation awarded grants to 37 middle and high school educators to support their classroom-based leadership efforts.

Programs are selected on the basis of their leadership content, overall impact on students and the centralized focus of the program.

Grant applications are accepted in the fall of each year.

Financial Assistance
Each year, LeadAmerica provides students with hundreds of thousands of dollars in financial assistance. Through the LeadAmerica Foundation, scholarships are available to students with demonstrated need. In 2005-6, the Foundation earmarked funds specifically to assist students who were victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Educator-Directed Scholarships
In addition to direct student financial aid, each year the LeadAmerica Foundation provides $100,000 in Educator-directed Scholarships. These scholarships, awarded to educators who nominate students to LeadAmerica conferences, may be used by the recipients to help their students defer the cost of their leadership experience.
